Welcome! to the home of the National CSI Professional Security Officers Training Academy (National CSI) operates an outstanding Security Academy which offers a wide array of programs and courses revolving around the field of security. National CSI is the only consulting firm providing such programs in and around Tri State area of New Jersey.
National CSI Professional Security Officers Training Academy training is not only indispensable in itself but it can also serve as the basis for an individual looking to becoming a police officer, seeking to earn an associate degree in Criminal Justice or a career in security.
The National CSI Professional Security Officers Training Academy is SORA (Security Officer Registration Act) members are all state certified instructors.
Professional Security Officers
provide protection to their employers. They protect property from illegal entry,
vandalism, theft, and fire.
In the aftermath of 9/11, security has truly become a top priority. Places that already employed security Officers, such as boat docks, religious buildings, public housing, amusement parks, train yards, shopping malls, schools, and public buildings, increased their number of Officers.
Places that didn't have security
began to employ security personnel. The phrase "better safe than sorry" suddenly
rang truer than it ever did before.
Current training for private security officers is minimal, inconsistent, and sometimes non-existent. It’s often left in the hands of security contractors who want to keep costs to a minimum and put officers on the job quickly because of high turnover rates.
Many security officers report that they don’t receive training, or that training is very superficial. Often, more experienced officers are asked to train new hires during work hours. And when officers are transferred to new buildings, they’re not trained on the new building’s specific emergency procedures.
There is little oversight to enforce existing state requirements around training. When training is provided, it varies widely – from company to company and building to building. This inconsistency results in a lack of preparedness and a lack of accountability to clients, building tenants, and the public at large.
National CSI is pleased to join with the state of New Jersey and other SORA instructors to be one of the first security academy's in the state to offer SORA training to its clients. SORA or the “Security Officer Registration Act” mandates sweeping changes in the private security industry. The most significant of these is the requirement that all currently employed and future security officers complete a twenty-four hour training course.
The course includes instruction in Homeland
Security, Incident Command System, Report Writing, Use of Force, Theft
Prevention, Cultural Diversity, Ethics, The Professional Security Officer,
Criminal Street Gangs and Certification in First Aid and CPR.
